The problem is finding the document, retrieving the information and providing a fresh copy to their team for use. The offsite facility must locate the drawing or document (hopefully undamaged), send it back to the client’s office where its scanned to be reproduced (if the client has the machinery) or sent to the blueprint company for reproduction. Much valuable time will have needlessly been wasted.

Off-site storage is expensive and retrieval also adds to the costs. Alexandria provides an alternative to the aforementioned process. Named after the Royal Library of Alexandria in Egypt, the largest library in the world during its day, our new software for scanning and archiving offers a solution to convert paper documents to recorded CD or DVD , which provides safe protected storage that can be retrieved easily. Uniquely our software goes way beyond the normal backup processes, with copyrighted management of files, renaming and grouping by customer requirements and retrieval in popular formats. If you can scan your own documents, with the purchase of our software the indexing or renaming and numbering is virtually automatic and assigning identification to the image is effortless. Instant retrieval is possible because of the unique identifier providing uses for both digital images and text sheets. Our software is compatible with large format drawings that have been scanned in TIFF, PDF or JPG formats and 1 to 2 sided color or black-white specification books.
